This post is in response to the post that Kyle had about technology in this day and age. I completely agree with everything that was said. Kids these days are always inside playing their video games or talking to their friends on their cell phone instead of kicking a ball around the from yard or doing something active. This also is a factor in our nation being so obese, but that is and entirely different issue in itself. It is really surprising to me how young people are getting their children cell phones. I know we had a discussion about it in class and it is a topic in many house holds but kids that are in middle school don't NEED a cell phone.
The one other area that I want to talk about is the fact that technology could take the place of workers. Technology is getting so advanced that in some industries such as the machine industry there can be machines which can run without any human assistance. The real question is can we afford to lose anymore jobs than we already have. With the economy in the shape that it is the last thing we need is for many more jobs to be lost to machines.
My question is if you were a CEO of a business and these types of machines would help your business would you take the opportunity or leave the work for your workers instead of firing them?
